West Vancouver - Ferry Building Restoration Project

The project will increase access to community and culture by restoring the 106-year old ferry building which has served as a community public art gallery and centre for 30 years. The upgrade will include relocation of the building, seismic and envelope upgrades, addition of a basement. The building has ongoing exhibitions, lectures and public programs providing a vital role in showcasing regional artists and developing important collaborations and relationships with many cultural organizations and community groups. The project works include: - relocation of the building; - seismic upgrades; - building envelope upgrades; - construction of washrooms; - construction of basement; - removal of hazardous materials; - replacement of wood floor joists and refinishing; - installation of a side lift; - construction of exterior deck, stairs and ramps; - landscaping.
