This project will replace and elevate bridges on three federal aid eligible corridors in Westchester County. The bridge that carries East Lincoln Avenue over the Hutchinson River Parkway will be replaced and the work at that location will also raise the elevation of a 1200-foot-long section of the Hutchinson River Parkway above the forecasted flood level of the river in the City of Mount Vernon and the Town and Village of Pelham. This project will also elevate the Saw Mill River Parkway between the Taconic State Parkway and Pleasantville Road by installing a structure that will correct extensive flooding and subsequent road closures by allowing the surrounding wetland to reconnect. The work at this location may also include reconditioning or replacement of the bridge carrying the Saw Mill River Parkway over the Saw Mill River in the Town of Mount Pleasant. The final corridor improvement will replace the existing bridge that carries Route 1 over the Mamaroneck River in the Village and Town of Mamaroneck. The scope of work at each location included in this project will increase the sustainability of these roadways while maintaining mobility and the safety of the roadways.
