The Australian Government has approved ten major clean energy projects in Western Australia under the Capacity Investment Scheme. These projects include wind farms, solar plants, and large-scale battery storage systems, expected to add around 1.886 GW of renewable electricity and 3.683 GWh of storage capacity. The initiative aims to strengthen the state's Wholesale Electricity Market, support grid stability, and replace retiring coal-fired power stations. It will supply electricity to over one million homes and create approximately 7,000 construction jobs and 500 long-term operational roles. Major companies involved include Neoen Australia, Shell Energy, and Synergy, with project sites in Yathroo, Kondinin, and Collie. Community benefits include $75 million for shared initiatives and $150 million for First Nations programs, along with $22 million in Australian-made steel usage.
