Description | The Western Gateway Pipeline is a proposed project by Phillips 66 and Kinder Morgan to build the first-ever pipeline delivering refined gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel directly to the West Coast, specifically Arizona and California, from as far east as Missouri. The project aims to create a vital connection between the Midwest and California, addressing the state's isolated fuel market and potential supply disruptions. The pipeline would combine new and existing infrastructure, including new lines from Borger, Texas to Phoenix, Arizona, and reversed flow on existing lines from Phoenix to Colton, California, with an optional connection to Las Vegas. It could supply 200,000 barrels per day of refined products by 2029, helping to offset refinery closures and reduce reliance on imports. |
