Description
Description | The Lake Shore Central School District in western New York is transitioning to electric school buses as mandated by New York State, which requires all school bus purchases to be electric by 2027. The district operates 23 electric buses, purchased with the help of a $7.9 million federal grant from the EPA Clean School Bus Program. However, there are issues with heating on these buses, as the heaters run on the same electricity as the bus itself, leading drivers to turn off heat to conserve battery power, causing children to be cold during winter rides. |
