Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Ministry of Power, Government of India, vide its Gazette notification. No 15/3/2018-Trans - Pt [1] dated 01.02.2019 has appointed REC Transmission Projects Company Limited to be the Bid Process Coordinator [BPC] for the purpose of selection of Bidder as Transmission Service Provider [TSP] to establish transmission system for Western Region Strengthening Scheme - 21 [WRSS-XXI] Part A - Transmission System Strengthening for Relieving Over Loadings Observed in Gujarat Intra-State System due to RE Injections in Bhuj PS through tariff based competitive bidding process. Adani Transmission Limited [ATL]- hereinafter referred to as TSP’, became successful bidder in this RFP process and Letter of Intent [LOI] received from BPC on 31.07.2019 and subsequently Special Purpose Vehicle [SPV] namely “WRSS XXI [A] Transco Limited” was acquired by ATL on 14.10.2019. Under this Project, WRSS XXI[A] to construct following transmission lines & Substation by May’21. 1] 765kV D/C Bhuj- Lakadia Line 2] LILO of 400kV D/C Bhachau -Essar line at Lakadia SS. 3] 765/400kV Lakadia SS 4] 2 Nos 765kV Bhuj Bay extension at Bhuj. Said Project has great National Importance for System Strengthening for Relieving Over Loadings Observed in Gujarat Intra -State System due to RE Injections in Bhuj Pooling Station. Construction work of on these transmission lines was initiated in Dec’20 and all requisite statutory clearances already in place, especially sec 68 and sec 164 notification as per regulation. It is a PPP [Tarrif Based Competitive Bidding [ TBCB] Mode] project.
