White House Ballroom Construction Project

construction halted

A massive new ballroom is being constructed at the White House. The project includes a highly sophisticated bunker being installed under the proposed ballroom. The above-ground ballroom construction is currently halted due to lack of congressional approval, except for work necessary to cover and secure the underground facilities. The Justice Department has appealed a federal judge's ruling to pause the above-ground construction, which was challenged on national security grounds.
