Description

The Whitecourt Scott Safety Centre Ice Plant Replacement Project (the Project) is to replace and upgrade the existing ice plant with a new low volume ammonia system. A retrofit of the ice plant is necessary to do this. An engineering study recommended the low volume ammonia system as the best in both environmental and financial performance. Additional safety measures for the entire community due to the reduction in ammonia will be put in place in the unlikely event of a leak.
