Description | The project consists of building a new outdoor Whitehorse Skate Park in place of the existing facility (including demolition of the existing structure) of approximately 3500m squared. The project aims to address concerns regarding the safety and ongoing maintenance of the aging existing Skate Park, built in 1995. The Skate Park is a popular venue for youth in the City, primarily from spring to fall. It is also used for the annual Canada Day Skate Competition, which attracts athletes from across the Yukon. The project will ultimately improve access to recreational infrastructure for the community, including Indigenous peoples. |
