Wilandra Farms Renewable Energy and Irrigation Upgrade

Wilandra Farms, led by Wilco Droppert and Sandra Jefford, has been progressively converting dryland to irrigated pasture and implementing renewable energy solutions including solar panels and wind turbines to power irrigation pumps. The farm has installed 249 kW of solar panels and 20 kW of wind turbines, upgraded irrigation infrastructure with efficient pumps and wider piping, built a larger storage dam with a floating pump, and installed a management system to optimize water pumping based on available renewable energy. The project also includes converting K-line sprinklers to fixed sprinklers over 20 hectares and planting 20,000 trees by 2030 to support biodiversity and carbon sequestration.
