Description	Germany's second liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal at Wilhelmshaven port, operated by Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET), aims to diversify the country's energy supply by enabling the import and regasification of LNG from various international suppliers. The terminal uses a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) named Excelsior, owned and operated by US-based Excelerate Energy, to convert LNG back into gas for distribution into Germany's gas network. The terminal is expected to supply up to 1.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2025, increasing to 4.6 billion cubic meters in 2026 and 2027, sufficient to meet heating demands of approximately 1.5 million households.
