Willie Hall Playground Stormwater Park

Willie Hall Playground is being restored as a $35 million athletic field and underground stormwater storage system in the St. Bernard neighborhood of New Orleans. The project includes constructing massive underground water tanks capable of storing up to five million gallons of water to reduce chronic flooding, along with a new football field, lighting, bleachers, rain gardens, a kayak launch, walking trails, and a multi-use recreational facility. The project is part of the Gentilly Resilience District and aims to mitigate flooding and expand public recreation fields.
