Wilson Lock interim guard wall project

The project involved installing an interim guard wall at Wilson Lock using an interlocking system of three ocean barges and equipment to support navigation traffic through the main chamber. The temporary guard wall is 585 feet long and designed to last between five to ten years. The project included lowering 140,000-pound spuds into the Tennessee River to keep the barges in place. The project aims to improve lock duration times for commercial vessels, reduce safety risks for workers, and support over 11 million tons of goods passing through the lock annually.
