The range of services provided include subscription-based television, internet access, voice and data services, and connectivity and interconnection through wireless transmission systems (MMDS, WiMAX, and point-to-point access through microwaves) and fiber optics. The Company has been operating since 2008 and as of December 2010 it employed approximately 350 workers. The IIC will be supporting the Company’s national expansion plan with an equity investment of up to US$5 million. The Company’s expansion plan, which covers the municipalities of Moca, La Vega, Esperanza, San Cristóbal, San Pedro, and La Romana, among others, mainly comprises investments in infrastructure and television and internet reception equipment. The Company seeks to offer television services in areas not covered by IPTV or cable, where there is only satellite coverage, and internet and VoIP services in areas not covered by DSL or cable modem operators. The expansion plan will also strengthen the triple-play service. With this project, the CII seeks to support the national expansion of voice, data, and video telecommunications services in the Dominican Republic while supporting a proposal for innovative technology in a market with high growth potential.
