Description | Cordelio Power, an independent power producer owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, has brought its 150-MW Winfield solar project online in Lincoln County, Missouri. The solar park will sell all of its power to Microsoft under a 15-year contract. The solar facility was designed and constructed by Qcells, a unit of South Korea’s Hanwha Group, which also provided solar modules including those manufactured in Georgia. Cordelio secured project financing for Winfield, with MUFG, National Bank of Canada, SMBC and Rabobank providing a USD-207-million construction loan and a USD-106-million term loan. Fifth Third Bank made a tax equity investment, and a third party purchased a portion of Winfield's investment tax credits. |
