Description | Wash Bay Extension:Provision of a single building capable of fully enclosing one carriage, by providing an extension to the existing structure. Construction will include: A 6 meter extension the current building. High level platforms and access stairs on either side of the extended building for EMU roof cleaning. Additional services connection points A self-draining floor with a soil separation sump leading to a trade wastewater system. Upgraded electrical systems in the current building Upgraded fire sprinkler system. Post Incident Pit (PIP): This will be provided in a standalone area alongside the existing building. Construction will include: A bio-cleaning pit approximately 30m long for cleaning the undercarriage and bogey of the trains. Steel roof and walls to enclose the pit A self-draining floor with a soil separation sump leading to a trade wastewater system. The sump can be isolated for forensic inspection, prior to discharge to trade waste water system and the drainage system includes a vertical pump to take account level differences. Services connection points Wheel Lathe Canopy: Extension of the canopy on Road 10, at the south end of the depot to prevent rain water from cascading from carriages into the wheel lathe area.
