WIS 49 (WIS 66 to WIS 29)

The project is needed to address the deteriorating pavement conditions and drainage facilities on WIS 49. The existing asphalt pavement is exhibiting signs of deterioration in the form of alligator cracking, longitudinal cracking, transverse cracking, patching and rutting. Several culverts along the corridor are showing signs of corrosion, damage, and silting, which could potentially lead to drainage failure. The project's proposed improvements include: From WIS 66 to WIS 153, place new gravel, pulverize the existing asphalt pavement, place 5 ¼ inches of asphalt pavement over the pulverized material.Through the WIS 153 intersection, mill and overlay 2 inches of asphalt pavement.Reconstruct the roadway north of the WIS 153 intersection to WIS 29 with 12 inches of new base aggregate and 5 ¼ inches of new asphalt pavement.Major grading to improve side slopes and drainage.Replace guardrail at structures.Replace deteriorated culverts.Rehabilitation of the three bridges between Wigwam Road and Bobsiding Road. This will include concrete overlays, deck edge repair, and repainting of steel girders.
