Description

Description

PCH WI Holdings LLC plans to construct a data center campus with four new data center buildings and one remodeled existing building on a 209-acre property in Wisconsin Rapids. The project aims to redevelop an underutilized industrial site, creating high-quality jobs and a stable tax base. The data center campus would employ up to 70 employees per shift and is designed to have minimal environmental impact, complying with all applicable regulations. The project includes phased construction between 2027 and 2029, starting with converting existing structures and then building new data halls and infrastructure. Power will be supplied through Consolidated Water Power Company and American Transmission Company, leveraging existing industrial power infrastructure. Water use will be limited to domestic needs with a closed-loop cooling system, and the project will connect to the city's municipal sewer and water system. The city has postponed a May 4 public hearing on the conditional use permit for the project to allow for more information and public input.
