Description
Description | "Our project “With Wide Open Eyes” is designed to enrich the Hungarian literary scene by introducing high-quality books for every age group from Central and Eastern Europe. The project involves the translation, publication, distribution, and promotion of eight works from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Ukraine, aimed at diversifying the Hungarian book market and fostering cultural exchange. Our thematic motto is: ""I look at the world with wide open eyes. I yearn to discover the unknown, to see beyond the horizon, to understand things that are not self-evident."" - by Romana Romanyshyn and Andriy Lesiv authors of two of our books from Ukraine. As we dive into the tales of the project, our senses will become the key to unlocking a deeper connection with our inner world and open a door to the lives of others. It's through this sensory exploration that we learn the true essence of empathy—feeling with someone, rather than just for them. The project's activities are designed to cater to different age groups, involving innovative book launches, exhibitions from the illustrations of the project books, author and translator Q&As, workshops for children and adults with the illustrators of the works, alternative literature classes for schoolchildren, drama pedagogy sessions for Ukrainien refugee children and bibliotherapy and poetry therapy sessions for adults. Our distribution strategy focuses on independent bookstores, art venues, libraries, literary, cultural and art festivals, design and cultural markets in Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Romania. The project features a targeted communications campaign, both online and offline, designed to expand and engage our audience. This includes social media posts, video content, podcasts, book reviews, influencer collaborations, interviews, media features, and newsletters. We aim to reach a diverse audience, benefiting children, young adults, parents, translators, illustrators, librarians, and educators. " |
