"""Woke European – Cool European” is an educational literary translation project that concentrates on presenting relevant issues of contemporary society to their most sensitive and most important part – teenagers. The three groups of books we plan to publish deal with three most concerning issues we have to educate them properly on: gender equality, environmental awareness and inclusion. All three groups include 3 books each, and each of these books treats a different sub-category: Gender equality group: 3 books that deal with 3 sub-topics (feminism basics, stereotyped gender roles, gender inequality) Environmentalism group: 3 books that deal with 3 sub-topics (environment awareness basics, climate change, our responsibilities and ways to help) Inclusion group: 3 books that deal with 3 sub-topics (social inequalities basics, mental illness inclusion, immigrant inclusion) In each of these groups, the first book concentrates on the basics of the concept in order to introduce the teens to the topic, while the other two books develop it and dissect it further. The main focus of the project is the education of the entire young population that is usually ignored when sending alarming messages of the state of both our planet and our society. By communicating in a way they understand, by making these hot topics “cool enough” for them we get the socially and environmentally woke citizens that are actually able to make a difference in the future. All the activities planned will be of educational nature, weather in a form of live events and promotions where the translators and lecturers will prepare lectures and answer the questions, or in a form of online videos, images and lives, where we will organize book talks and Q&As through our social networking channels. We expect the project to be successful in terms of both basic and additional education and recognition of the social and environmental issues inside the young adult community."
