Wolfville Active Transportation Network

The project is for the development of a core AT network throughout the town of Wolfville. It is comprised of All-Ages-and-Abilities (AAA) walking and cycling facilities. The addition of the 10km+ of network would provide residents and visitors with safe, comfortable, and convenient access via AT modes, to key destinations in town and will connect to the provincial Blue Route cycling network. Facilities in the town core include: 6km+ of separated multi-use pathways (MUP) and protected bike lanes, 3km+ AT connector trails and shared streets, as well as improving crossings and connecting sidewalk segments. The Project Scope includes: 1. Main Street: Protected bike lanes 3,140m (east = 1,760, west = 1,380) long by 3m width / asphalt with concrete barriers and bollards/ installation of RRFB/expansion of existing infrastructure 2. Skyway - Pleasant: MUP 2,370m long by 3m wide/asphalt, off road /paving existing MUP 3. Harvest Moon Trail: MUP 470m long by 3.2m wide/asphalt/refurbishment of existing trail corridor 4. Connectors: a. Highland to Harvest Moon - section a) MUP 130m long by 3m wide / material TBD section b) 100m paint, signage / refurbishment b. East end gateway to Harvest Moon - MUP 90m long by 3.2m wide/asphalt/new build c. Oak Ave extension to Harvest Moon - MUP 80m long by 3.2m wide, asphalt or crusher, new build d. Reservoir connector - MUP 190m long by 3m wide, crusher dust, refurbishment. e. Highland Ave to Wolfville School - MUP 120m long by 3m+ wide, asphalt, paint, signage. 5. Shared Streets: The following segments of shared streets treatments which include: paint, signage and speed humps. a. Kent Ave: 890m b. Gaspereau Ave: 1200m c. Sherwood Drive: 870m d. Cherry Lane: Bike boulevard 280m 6. New Sidewalk: a. Victoria Ave: Sidewalk 190m long, 2m wide/concrete or asphalt, Refurbishment. b. Front St & Harbourside: 40m long 2m wide/concrete, new build.
