Description

Description

This portion of the larger airport improvement project will expand the apron and taxiway and upgrade the Precision Approach Path Indication System from APAPI to PAPI. These upgrades will help to relieve congestion and increase the safety of this airport. The expansion for the taxiway and apron will stay within the current aerodrome footprint and fencing. This improvement project will extend the life of the airport by 20-30 years with normal maintenance activities. The Wollaston Lake Airport receives scheduled air service and is also used by medevac, general charter companies including mine workers, and some private use. There are approximately 3000 aircraft movements annually and congestion is an issue.
