Description | According to the latest reports, there is still a significant gender imbalance in leadership positions within sports governing bodies. The very few number of women presidents and board of administration members, almost inexistence of mentoring programmes for (future) women in leadership positions, lack of networks of women leaders, etc. are clear evidence. Furthermore, recommendations of the HLG of the European Commission, IOC are still to be fully implemented. WINGS project aims at truly and globally implementing the aforementioned items in volleyball and basketball: ▪ Pillar 1 - Data: to collect more and new data on women in leadership positions at all levels including the grassroot one. The scope of data collection will go beyond the All In Plus project with a projected 50+ countries to be covered and additional questions concerning the issues and needs of current women leaders; ▪ Pillar 2 - Enrichment: to provide an upgraded and digitalized training for women leaders, based upon the previously collected data, EU recommendations and existing leaders training programmes; ▪ Pillar 3 - Leader Angels: to break the glass ceiling thanks to a new network of experienced and acknowledged mentors motivating current women leaders and inspiring future ones; and ▪ Pillar 4 - Dissemination : To reach youth and all women leaders in all levels of the sports pyramid and ensure they consume training content on the go (commuting, exercising, etc.). |
