Women's Artistic Voices for Equality and Solidarity - WAVES

WAVES (Women’s Artistic Voices for Equality and Solidarity) WAVES is a transnational cultural cooperation project uniting partners from Kosovo, Albania, France, and Ukraine to counteract the rise of anti-gender narratives and empower marginalized communities through participatory feminist art. The project leverages community storytelling, co-creation, and transnational artistic exchange to amplify feminist counter narratives across Europe. It is rooted in inclusive practices and aims to support women, LGBTQI+ individuals, displaced people, immigrants, youth, and people with disabilities. Through six interlinked work packages, WAVES organizes artistic research, community workshops, feminist performance co-productions, digital and in-person dissemination, and capacity-building training in outreach, ethical communication, AI and cybersecurity, and sustainable event organization. Events such as residencies, livestreamed performances, and an online European conference are key components, alongside the creation of lasting tools such as manuals and an e-book on feminist cultural activism. Innovative aspects include cross-border co-creation, use of digital-first strategies, eco-conscious operations, and trauma-informed, intersectional engagement. WAVES strengthens solidarity with Ukraine and contributes to Creative Europe’s digital, green, inclusion, and internationalization goals. The project combines strong local roots with European visibility, fostering lasting change and inspiring new feminist cultural actions across the continent.
