Womens empowerment and Rural livelihood creation through training as Allied Health Professionals [AHP]

India has a shortfall of over 5.0 million trained AHPs. This is adversely affecting quality of healthcare and its growth. Almost 90percentage of rural youth do not have access to opportunities for studying beyond school. Over 50percentage of technical staff in healthcare are drawn from among women. Rural primary care suffers the most due to lack of trained health workers. Home healthcare is growing at a substantial rate both in metro and non-metro areas of India due to ageing population The combination of all the factors stated above create a compelling opportunity for training and skilling a large number of AHPs across India, primarily drawing from poor rural youth, particularly women.
