Description | The project “WONDER M.ARTAS \WOmeN Doing Karate and Judo are EmpoweRed from Martial ARTAS” has for main goal of women’s power physically and psychologically through martial Arts. The target of the project: WOMEN aged 18 - 60 who live in rural areas. It is important to involve women who have economic and social difficulties and/or, have suffered from violence and/or abuse, are Immigrants/refugees, are Workers, are Students The partnership is composed of associations who live in rural areas and stay in a country where the women’s issue (gender gap, violence against women) is high: Italy, Turkey, Romania, Greece, and Slovenia. The project WONDER M.ARTAS wants to achieve these aims: 1. promote knowledge on martial arts as a tool for social inclusion, dialogue, and equality 2. promote the continuous practice of martial arts as a tool of empowerment and a factor in the realization of the talent of women in sport and, in general, of the social value of women 3. to reduce the cliché that considers martial arts as violent sports 4. promote sports education by increasing the development of soft skills 5. stimulate the target involved to develop awareness of women's rights, as well as the tools for preventing and combating women; 6. get knowledge & awareness of the various forms of violence against women; 7. decrease the stereotype of the woman's image 8. promote gender education as a factor of change with respect to sexist behavioral models; 9. to promote the creation and development of a European network in the martial arts sector, which combines the practice of sports disciplines with the adoption of non-formal methodology; 10. promote synergies between actors of the project in order to support women with fewer opportunities 11. get the ability to operate transnationally through the exchange of good practices 12. stimulate dialogue and comparison with other cultures and countries, develop a sense of local and European citizenship in the target involved |
