Description
Description | The project is to replace the Woodford Drive steel bridge over the Milwaukee River in the hamlet of Young America, Town of Barton, Wisconsin. The bridge dates to 1891 and is currently closed for safety reasons. The project received a $1.6 million federal grant and involves the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The design is preliminary and construction was initially scheduled for 2027 but has been delayed by two years due to environmental coordination related to historic eligibility of an adjacent building. Construction is now expected to begin in summer 2028. |
