Description
Description | The WorldLink Transit Cable project is an undersea internet cable initiative that will establish a new digital corridor connecting the Gulf region to Europe via Iraqi territory. The cable will start in Abu Dhabi, UAE, pass through Iraq to Turkey, and link to Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. It aims to serve multinational telecom corporations and AI applications, reduce data transmission interruptions, and improve resilience between Asia and Europe. The cable will have a design capacity of around 900 terabytes per second and reduce latency to less than 100 milliseconds. The project will support cloud computing services, data centers, and advanced digital applications, and is expected to take five years to complete. |
