Woven City Robot City Project

Toyota Motor Corporation has launched Woven City, the world's first robot city, at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The experimental city covers 175 acres on the site of Toyota's old Higashi-Fuji plant. After over 10 years of planning and 5 years of construction, the project is set to officially launch in fall 2025. The city will initially host 100 residents, mainly Toyota engineers and their families, and plans to grow to 2,000 residents. It features Toyota's e-Palette self-driving electric vehicles, an underground network for automatic delivery, and separate lanes for pedestrians, bikes, and autonomous vehicles. The project represents Toyota's shift from a car company to a technology company focused on transportation and smart city solutions.
