Application for Creative Media Europe Filmdistribution Grant WW Entertainment BV of Amsterdam, the Netherlands (‘WWE NL’) is one of the largest independent film distributors in the Netherlands. WWE NL distributes all types of movies, ranging from arthouse & crossover to commercial blockbusters. On average some 20 films are theatrically released each year by WWE NL. The expected Media grant will be invested in right acquisitions and marketing of eligible non-national European films, in line with the past acquisition strategy of WWE NL. In past years WWE NL has substantially invested in such non-national European films. The Media grant will not only be used by WWE NL to finance the acquisition of films (payment of minimum guarantees or MG), but will also go towards the active enhancement and promotion (‘P&A spend’) as well as support release cost (dubs & subs, localization) of non-national European films in the Dutch market.
