Wylfa Large-Scale Nuclear Power Station Project

planned

The project involves the development of a large-scale nuclear power station at Wylfa on Anglesey, Wales. The project aims to create thousands of jobs, generate affordable baseload power, and reduce reliance on weather-dependent or geopolitically vulnerable energy sources. Private investors are prepared to fund the majority of the project, minimizing the need for taxpayer contributions. The UK government is considering options between a large-scale gigawatt plant and smaller-scale Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) at Wylfa or Oldbury.
