X Tampa Apartment Project Crane

paused

The project involves the X Tampa apartment construction site in downtown Tampa, where a large construction crane has been idle for nearly two years. Residents are concerned about the structural integrity of the crane, especially during hurricane season, fearing it could collapse into nearby buildings if a storm hits. The general contractor is Kast Construction, and the crane is owned and maintained by a licensed crane supplier. The crane was recently inspected and is maintained under active oversight with a hurricane preparedness plan in place as per new Florida law.
