Description

Description

The Xinyang College of Agriculture and Forestry (project sponsor) is located in the city of Xinyang in Henan Province, which has a population of 8 million. The project sponsor is one of the few higher vocational schools in the city. Traditionally, the college has specialized in training courses in the agricultural and food sector, which are linked to laboratories and technology centers. In addition, a large proportion of the students are trained in commercial and IT professions. The project includes the procurement of modern teaching and learning materials and the construction of dormitories for students on the campus. The measures are intended to increase the practical training component in the main subjects from the current 40% to 50% in the next five years. Furthermore, the number of students is to rise from the current 11,000 to 12,000. The adult education courses are expected to be attended by 3,400 people in 2020. Almost 1,000 people are currently taking part. During the project period, the number of teaching staff is expected to increase from around 860 to 1,010 people. The teaching and learning materials will be fully financed with the FZ funding loan of EUR 20.0 million. The remaining funds will be used to co-finance the construction of the dormitories.
