Description | The Yakaar-Teranga gas field is a vast deepwater natural gas resource located in the Cayar Offshore Profond block north of Dakar, Senegal. It has estimated recoverable resources of approximately 25 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of natural gas. The project involves the transition of operatorship from Kosmos Energy, a US-listed upstream operator, to PETROSEN, the Senegalese state oil company, effective in 2026 upon the expiry of the exploration licence. PETROSEN assumes sole operatorship with full authority over development timelines, investment strategy, and monetisation plans for the field. |
