Yamuna Flood Protection Wall Project

The Delhi government has approved the construction of a 4.72-kilometre-long flood protection wall along a vulnerable stretch of the Ring Road from Majnu Ka Tila to the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) to protect the capital from recurring floods of the Yamuna river. The wall aims to prevent floodwaters from spilling into residential areas and provide protection to vulnerable localities such as Civil Lines, Kashmere Gate, Yamuna Bazaar, and Majnu Ka Tila. The project also aims to check riverbank erosion, curb illegal dumping of waste, and protect the Yamuna's ecosystem.
