Yamuna Riverfront Development Project

The Delhi government plans to create a vibrant 22km riverfront along the Yamuna river from Wazirabad to Okhla, inspired by the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad. The project aims to restore the floodplain and create recreational spaces such as walking trails, cycle tracks, and public areas while improving the river's ecological health. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is undertaking floodplain restoration and ecological revitalization efforts, including planting indigenous trees and developing greenways. The project is intended to balance ecological restoration with public access and urban development.
