Description | The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) plans to build a ropeway system along the Yamuna river to boost tourism and provide a unique commuter experience. The ropeway will offer panoramic views of religious landmarks, riverbanks, and Old Delhi, starting from the Kalindi Aviral project along the Yamuna floodplains. It is planned on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, with minimal land acquisition as most towers will be on government land or existing rights-of-way. The project includes a detailed feasibility study, technical surveys, benchmarking of ropeway systems worldwide, demand assessment, financial and economic analysis, and social and environmental impact assessment. Construction is expected to take 18 months once started. |
