Description	Construction has started on the world's largest hydroelectric dam on the Yarlung Tsangpo River in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The project consists of five cascade dams around the city of Nyingchi and aims to produce 300 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, which is equal to the electricity consumed by Britain last year. It is expected to be at least three times larger than the Three Gorges Dam and is estimated to cost 1.2 trillion yuan ($256 billion). The project is overseen by the state-owned China Yajiang Group and is expected to boost sectors like construction, cement, and steel, as well as contribute to China's goal of net zero emissions by 2060.
