Description

Description

The European Council for Steiner Waldorf Education (ECSWE) unites 27 national associations, representing over 800 schools and 195.000 pupils across 28 countries. As part of its three-year framework partnership, this third work plan builds on the achievements of prior years, which focused on identifying and addressing the needs of member organisations. Organisational growth, professional team development, and stronger connections with schools through member federations have been key outcomes, supported by targeted organisational assistance. In 2025, ECSWE will complete significant results, initiate new projects, and shape future strategies. Key priorities include advocacy for educational freedom and development-oriented practices, with a focus on green and digital transitions. Practical, school-level resources are being developed to embed these themes within national Steiner Waldorf associations and their member schools. An international curriculum framework is under construction, supporting national federations in aligning, refining, and communicating their national curricula. Outreach efforts will be strengthened through events and a comprehensive dissemination strategy. New initiatives include storytelling as a catalyst for societal change and a forward-looking project on future-proof education. These efforts reflect ECSWE’s vision of holistic education that enables children to realise their unique potential and contribute to a sustainable, thriving Europe. This vision aligns with key EU education policies, such as the Digital Education Action Plan (DEAP) and the European Education Area (EEA), as well as UNESCO's Reimagining Our Futures Together, placing ECSWE at the centre of the European educational discourse. ECSWE continues to champion education that nurtures lifelong personal and professional growth, affirming its commitment to a sustainable, inclusive, and democratic Europe rooted in human and fundamental rights.
