Description
Description | The objective of the Health and Population Project (HPP) for Yemen, Republic of is to improve access to and utilization of a package of maternal, neonatal, and child health services in selected governorates with a high concentration of districts with poor health indicators. There are two components to the project, the first component being improving access to maternal, neonatal, and child health services. This component will support initiatives targeted to improve access to Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) services in geographic areas with poor MNCH indicators. Activities will include delivery of outreach services and selected upgrading of first level referral facilities. It will comprise three subcomponents: delivery of outreach services; upgrade of first level referral facilities and provision of community-based health services; and support national public health campaigns. Finally, the second component is the results-based monitoring and evaluation and project administration. The project will finance technical assistance to carry out evaluations of the upgraded MNCH outreach services to measure the results of the project interventions on the access and utilization of women and children in the project governorates. The evaluations will include a baseline survey, mid-term and end of project evaluation. It will also support the implementation of the national demographic health surveys that will be implemented during the duration of the project. In addition, this component will support activities related to the design and implementation of independent monitoring of project targets and audit of outreach services. |
