Description | A pipeline of the Yettinahole project burst near Sakleshpur taluk in Hassan district, Karnataka, causing water to inundate nearby paddy fields and enter areca nut and coffee plantations. The burst occurred due to the snapping of a welded 10-ft diameter pipe installed from Doddanagara village to Hebbanahalli. Water gushed out like a fountain up to 100-ft high and remained unattended till evening, damaging crops belonging to several farmers. Compensation for the affected farmers will be provided by Visvesvaraya Jal Nigam or the contractor company responsible for the work. |
