Description | The Yonge Express Subway (YES) is a proposed 25.5-kilometre high-speed underground express subway line from Lakeshore Boulevard to Richmond Hill, designed to provide rapid transit with minimal stops approximately 5.5 km apart. It aims to relieve congestion on TTC Line 1 by bypassing local stops and reducing travel time to 25 minutes from Richmond Hill to Downtown Toronto. The line would be constructed entirely within the Yonge Street right-of-way, requiring no property acquisition and minimal surface disruption, with tunneling launched from four shafts. |
