Description
Description | The Young European Theater Network (YETN), coordinated by Créarc (France), is a transnational youth network made up of 44 member organisations from 27 countries. Its mission is to empower, include and connect young people through theater as a tool for non-formal education, intercultural dialogue and democratic participation. Each member structure develops local projects with youth – especially those with fewer opportunities – and contributes to the international dynamic through mobility, training, and collective reflection. YETN’s activities offer youth a platform to express their concerns, enhance their confidence, and collaborate across cultural, social and geographical divides. The network addresses urgent challenges faced by young Europeans, such as anxiety about the future, social isolation, inequality, and the impact of digitalisation on relationships and self-perception. For 2026–2027, the network will focus on the theme: “Fighting powerlessness – imagining the future with and through youth.” Year 1 (2026) will explore how dominant narratives shape youth identity and how alternative narratives can be co-created. Year 2 (2027) will focus on solidarity as an antidote to loneliness and societal fragmentation. These themes will be explored through theater workshops, international exchanges, artistic creations, debates and collaborative seminars. Over two years, the network aims to engage 3,500 youth, organise 30 international exchanges, and reach more than 2.5 million people through both live events and digital dissemination. The project strengthens youth participation, fosters inclusion, and supports EU objectives by enabling young people to become active, connected and empowered citizens in Europe. |
