Description
Description | "The Youth Accessible Participation (YAP) programme, led by European Youth Press (EYP), aims to empower young media makers by creating platforms for youth engagement in EU media and policy discussions. Through a series of cross-border initiatives, YAP seeks to increase youth involvement in EU decision-making, promote media literacy, and foster democratic participation. The project will provide young media makers with the tools to critically engage with EU policies and contribute to EU media landscapes. By addressing key issues such as journalistic integrity, the role of public interest journalism, and youth-led media dialogue, YAP will offer hands-on opportunities for capacity building, networking, and direct collaboration with EU stakeholders. Activities like the ""EU, Explained"" media labs and the ""EU, Can We Talk?"" debates will engage young people in discussions on European democracy, media ethics, and policy, while the PulseZ and Orange Magazine platforms will amplify youth-created content. The project will also organize regional workshops and forums to engage diverse youth across Europe, ensuring inclusivity and fostering a stronger connection between youth media organizations and EU institutions. YAP contributes directly to EU youth goals, including empowering youth in democratic processes and providing access to EU programs and opportunities. Through these efforts, YAP will equip young people to become active citizens and informed journalists, thereby strengthening democratic resilience and media freedom across Europe. " |
