Youth Competences and Composting Practices for Inclusive Communities

"104 volunteers from at least six countries (Greece, Ukraine, Italy, France, Portugal, Türkiye), will engage in solidarity activities in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece during 2026-2027. Seven volunteering teams will address the call priorities ""Fostering Positive Learning Experiences and Outcomes for Young People with Fewer Opportunities"" and ""Relief for persons fleeing armed conflicts and other victims of natural or man-made disasters"", through solidarity actions. The activity structure, the preparation visit, as well as the recruitment, will ensure the support and empowerment of youngsters with fewer opportunities, also through the involvement of youth from the target groups as participants. Five volunteering teams will operate in Thessaloniki performing actions and on-field activities, such as: - Supporting a safe center for women and their children (workshops and social events for refugee women at Irida Women Centre) - Supporting children and young Roma (at children shelter and after school program with Faros tou Kosmou organisation) - Supporting reintegration and social inclusion of people in recovering from addictions (Organic farming projects and social inclusion events with ARGO). - Supporting a social kitchen for people in need (with the associated partner Odysseas) - Organise digital media workshops and campaigns with youth in need - Organise workshops on recycling and environmental issues in schools Two volunteering teams will operate in the small communities of the Aristotelis Municipality. The volunteers will be promoting inclusion and providing learning opportunities and positive outcomes to young people facing mostly economic, social and geographical obstacles. They will also promote a better waste management through raising awareness campaigns and workshops on recycling and composting. Complementary activities will be events to address the four core priorities of ESC (Environment, Inclusion, Digital Transformation, Participation)."
