Module objective Contribution to improved, equal access to essential services for young people in the target regions of Kilifi/Mombasa, Kisumu and Nairobi by linking health services, vocational qualifications, educational work and social offers. Approach The VIVA-ITH youth program starts right here. Young people can register for the program. They find out about it from other young people who work as promoters or in youth clubs or from youth magazines or social networks that advertise it. When they register, young people receive a user ID, either electronically via an app or as a chip card (like a voucher). This gives them free access to reproductive and sexual health services (including contraceptives), to DSW educational seminars and career-oriented short-term training courses as a basis for self-determined living and as a basis for being able to earn their own income. By actively using the health services, participating in training courses and other program offers, for example in the youth clubs, the young people, but also the providers of health services and training courses, can collect bonus points. Service providers can exchange these bonus points for money and use them to either motivate their staff financially or improve their services. Young people can exchange these points in affiliated shops for food (like the miles-and-more approach). The bonus program is intended to contribute to health-conscious and positive behavioral change among all those involved. Partner The government partner is the Kenyan Ministry for Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs (MoPSYGA). The cooperation partner and co-financer is the British foundation Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF).
