Y-MED - ‘Youth Mobility in EuroMed’ aims at building the capacity of EFIL as a network, and of the other Partner organisations specifically to implement youth mobility schemes between Europe and the South Mediterranean region, comprising sending and hosting, with the ultimate aim of fostering of common EU values and fighting xenophobia. The project not onlys strives to build capacity for all project partners and participants, but also to promote the Southern Mediterranean region. In this sense Y-MED, also stands for ‘why EuroMed?’, by aiming to promote the fruitful outcomes of EuroMed cooperation, especially with regards to cross-regional youth work and learning mobility. The specific project objectives are: 1.Promoting EU values and further combat any kind of discrimination, through youth work activities with an intercultural perspective on such topics 2.Upskilling the competences of youth workers for organising youth learning mobility between Europe and the South Mediterranean 3.Promote peer learning, experiential learning and exchange of good practices in the field of youth work between the two regions 4.Promote learning mobility of young people to and from the South Mediterranean region, involving both volunteer youth workers and 15-18 year-olds in a long-term mobility programme within formal education The project builds on existing resources and activities consist of training and experiential learning opportunities for professional and volunteer youth workers, focus groups and context analysis to identify specific need of a wide range of target groups, testing of innovative activities and will culminate in the production of two manuals: Youth Mobility in Euromed: a manual of activities for youth workers’ and ‘Youth Mobility in Euromed: a practical guide for organisations. The project will directly benefit 〜15 professional youth workers, 35 volunteer trainers and 120 volunteer youth workers.
