Description
Description | The objective of this Agreement is to develop plans to expose minorities to the NPS through service-wide NPS youth program initiatives, leadership training, scholar in residence program, and plans to digitize the historic collections housed at Central State University connected to the parks period of significance. To ensure substantial involvement of NPS with Central State University, the institution will provide a campus office to NPS personnel, and will designate a staff member of Central State University as the National Park Service Liaison. The close proximity between Central State University and the Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument will greatly facilitate this partnership. Colonel Charles Young was the first Professor of Military Science which is why he moved his family to this community and purchased the home which is now the Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument. Currently, this Military Science Program is managed at Central State University to train students throughout this region for their military careers.
