Description | In January 2004, Panriver Investment, a subsidiary of Hong Kong based Panva Gas Holding Ltd, acquired 90% stake in Yuechi Natural Gas Company for US$4.47 million (RMB 37 million) from Yuechi municipal government. With that transaction, Yuechi Natural Gas Company became a limited liability company and its name was changed to Yuechi Panva Gas Company. The Yuechi government owned the remaining 10% in the company. Yuechi Panva Gas Company was granted a 30 year exclusive concession to operate, expand, and manage the piped gas network in the area governed by Yuechi municipality, located in Sichuan province. The municipality had an area of 1,480 square kilometers and a population of 1.1 million comprising 290,000 households. Hong Kong based Panva Gas Holding Ltd was a publicly traded company in the Hong Kong stock exchange and was principally focused on commercialization of natural gas and liquefied petroleum in China mainland.
