The Yukon Resource Gateway Project will provide needed upgrades on portions of the Dempster Highway, the Casino Road, the Freegold road, the Carmacks Bypass, the Nahanni Range Road, the Robert Campbell Highway, the North Canol Road and the Silver Trail. In total, the Yukon Resource Gateway Project will help upgrade over 327 kilometres of roads, and build, rehabilitate or replace numerous bridges, culverts, and stream crossings. The Project will improve roads through the Yukon that are nationally significant for their role in connecting Canada’s North, including communities in the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, to the rest of Canada via the National Highway System. These roads provide access to communities in the North and/or access to mineral rich areas - supporting sustainable mineral development within the jurisdictions of both the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
